We refer to our email to all members sent out on Wednesday 25th March 2020 where we informed you that because of the current situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided to suspend all Club activities until further notice.
In the same email, we did however not exclude holding the Falken Sette Giugno Pozzallo Cruise due between the 6th and the 9th June and we promised to give you a definite answer in the first week of April.
The Committee of the Club met yesterday (online) to discuss this event and we have decided that the Club is in no position to plan and organise the Falken Sette Giugno Pozzallo Cruise on those dates, in the current circumstances. As you are well aware, travel by air or sea between Malta and Italy is prohibited and we have no idea when this restriction will be lifted. Moreover, once this is eventually lifted, we have no idea what conditions will be imposed on the crews/passengers travelling between the two countries.
Therefore, regrettably, we have to also cancel this year’s edition of the Falken Sette Giugno Pozzallo Cruise.
In the meantime, we once again urge you to abide by the local health authorities regulations and recommendations and to take care or your health and that of your loved ones.
Due to the current situation and in line with local Health Authorities’ recommendations, the Club is suspending all Club activities until further notice.
Talk on Cruising in Greece
The talk on Greece and particularly on the Ionian Sea planned for the first week of April will not take place. However, we are in contact with the speaker of this interesting talk with the hope of being able to organise an online webinar in which all interested members will be able to join in, participate in the presentation and even ask questions to the speaker – all online. More details will be communicated to you later.
Easter in Gozo
Regrettably, the planned cruise to Gozo and the dinner with our friends, the Gozo Cruise & Crews, has been cancelled.
Quiz Night
Again, this annual event planned for May 2020 has also been cancelled. We might be in a position to hold this event later on in the year, if this is possible.
Sette Giugno Cruise to Pozzallo
We are still working on the possibility to hold this event between the 6th and 9th June 2020. The situation at the moment does not look very good. Nevertheless, we will continue to consult with our friends in Pozzallo and review the current situation in Malta and we will communicate our final decision on this event on the first week of April.
In the meantime, we strongly urge you to adhere to the health instructions being given out by the local Health Authorities and take care of your own health, that of your family and the public in general.
