Below is a statement issued to all members who booked to participate in the Marina Di Ragusa Cruise scheduled for 23rd to 26th September 2022
Dear members,
A decision has been taken by the Club to cancel the Marina di Ragusa Cruise planned for the 23rd to 26th September 2022.
We have been following the weather forecasts for a number of days and unfortunately, all the weather models agree that the forthcoming weekend is more suitable for offshore competitive sailing than leisure cruising.
For Friday 23rd, the wind is expected to be a Force 4-5 gusting F5-6 Northeast and the average wave height around 1.2 to 1.5 metres, which is not prohibitive but certainly uncomfortable.
What is more worrying is that on Monday 26th the sea conditions remain the same, if not worse. Moreover, the long-term predictions for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week have a similar pattern which means that coming back to Malta would be a problem.
Regrettably, in the circumstances, we have no option but to cancel the Cruise.
